The Eva Crane Trust is 20 !

During the past two decades the number of applications that the Trust receives each year has trebled. Careful management of Eva’s inheritance has enabled the Trustees to not only grow the capital sum but to provide over £1.27 million pounds worth of financial support to a wide variety of bee related projects in over 30 countries.

The subject matter that has been covered has been diverse, from ancient beekeeping and archaeology in the middle East, (a topic enjoyed by Eva) to investigating the consequences of climate change on bee populations. As a result of the Trust’s funding several on-line data bases have been created, books have been published and conferences supported. We have witnessed beekeeping and citizen science projects really flourish from an initial investment from the Trust. It has been a pleasure to support so many authors, scientists, beekeepers and citizen scientists.

As we celebrate our twentieth anniversary it is the aim of the Trustees to continue this support for many more years. There are exciting times ahead as we plan to restructure, modernize and improve the ways that we can support the scientific community and share information. Please follow us on Facebook and Twitter for the latest news and updates as we strive to ensure Eva Crane’s legacy will live long into the future.
