Obverse: hive surrounded by bees encircled in foliage; lettering = H.M. Reverse: lettering = ISSUED BY ROYAL LICENCE F... THE CONVENIENCE OF TRADE 1811, SILVER SHILLING TOKEN PAYABLE AT S. GA... OR I CHEESEMANS STEYNING SUSSEX. The tokens were used as a means of payment at the time due to a shortage of official coins.
