Notes
-
The recesses are not brick. The red colour is from red sandstone pieces. The tower house itself uses red sandstone for decorative features. The wall forms the top of a former walled garden area that slopes south eastward down to the road. There is no sign of reworking around the recesses, on the contrary, the bee boles seem to have been specifically designed as a feature in the wall when it was constructed.
